After an exciting summer in our beautiful Limerick city, the children are going back to school; we are packing away our summer clothes and getting ready for all things autumnal and colorful. So what would be more amazing than a weekend film festival right in the heart of our city, to add to all the other amazing things happening in this City of Culture year?

This film festival is being brought to us courtesy of The Royal Picture Show. It opens on Thursday 18th September and runs until Sunday 20th September.

The festival will take place at 69 O’Connell Street (formerly The Belltable) and will be packed with great movies for adults and children including the classic ‘The 39 Steps’, The Beatles ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, Disney Pixar’s ‘WALL-E’ and the late Robin Williams in ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’.

The festival’s Friday night movie on the 19th September is the amazing cult classic ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ with Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Richard O’Brien and the ever-powerful Meatloaf. The screening starts at 11.00pm and is a charity fundraiser for the amazing UNITY GOSPEL CHOIR LIMERICK. This is a movie that everyone loves to dress up as their favorite characters from the film and dance and sing along to. You can even shout out the entire dialog on the night! This is a great opportunity to be involved in a showing of this fantastic movie that has been watched and loved by millions, to join in the staging of it all and is also chance to live this iconic movie from start to finish.

UGCL is delighted to be given this amazing opportunity by The Royal Steering Group to raise much needed funds and thank them very much. There will be a meet and greet performance from UNITY GOSPEL CHOIR LIMERICK on the charity screening night.

The ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Limerick Style will be amazing fun, with costumes, prompters, rice and toast. Which character will you be going as?!! Tickets for this spectacular event are just €10 and are available from Caterina O’Brien, at the customer service desk in O’Mahony’s Booksellers on O’Connell Street, or from UGCL Members. Please Call (086)1003250 for more details.

This show is expected to sell out very quickly, with limited seating, so book your tickets early and come and join UNITY GOSPEL CHOIR LIMERICK “Singing with Joy in our Hearts”. LET’S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!!!!!!
