Students and teachers of Scoil Mhuire agus Ide Newcastle West took to the catwalk for their annual Valentine’s fashion show on what was a truly glamorous evening.

Models showcasing outfits from Limerick’s shops and boutiques to be seen at the fashion show.

The event returned to the school grounds after a six year absence and this year in particular, they made great efforts to show the individuality of their students. Recycled dresses designed by a group of Transition Year girls made a debut, and an artistic backdrop was designed for the big night. It guaranteed not only a night of high fashion, but also a night of musical excellence, with many performances from the incredibly talented Transition Years being featured throughout the night’s line-up.

The previous shows have been a huge success, both for the school and for local businesses. As always, the school has a great organisational team behind them, consisting of the hard-working and dedicated teachers, Ms Harris, Ms Kennedy and Ms Thompson and all the staff.

With their biggest number of Transition Year students to date, there was no shortage of models for the local shops and boutiques of Limerick to exhibit their spring collections. Local businesses have always been extremely supportive to the school, helping out with the preparations for the show in any way they can. All funds that are raised on the night go towards Scoil Mhuire agus Ide’s highly successful Transition Year programme.
