Tiger Beer announces title sponsorship of Tiger TomCat Street Festival
Tiger Beer is delighted to announce its new role as title sponsor for Limerick’s TomCat Street Festival, which is set to take place this bank holiday weekend, May 29th – June 1st.
Now in its third year, the festival features a broad range of events including performance art, music, dance and installation artwork, with this year’s lineup featuring DJ Hysetero and comedian Danny Dowling. The brainchild of local businesses, the festival aims to echo the diverse nature of the surrounding area through culture and creativity.
As part of its Uncage Series, Tiger is collaborating with local Limerick artist Louisa Donnelly to create a live art installation within the festival area. Taking inspiration from the word ‘Curious’, Louisa will use local landmark Fox’s Bow as her canvas, creating an installation festival-goers can see grow and evolve as the weekend goes on.
Aisling O Brien, Heineken Ireland Marketing Manager, commented: “Tiger is a champion of the arts globally, and the innovation and creativity seen at TomCat make the festival a perfect fit for us. Tiger is passionate about tapping into the pulse of local creativity, so we’re also delighted to be collaborating with Louisa Donnelly. We’re excited to see her create a living, breathing piece of art that festival-goers can experience first-hand.”
Tiger will also bring its Kinetic Tiger to the streets of Limerick for TomCat. As part of the Uncage Series, Tiger worked with sculptor Andrew Clancy to create the Kinetic Tiger, a mobile, life-sized interpretation of the iconic animal. The Kinetic Tiger will be prowling around the festival this weekend and is a spectacle not to be missed.
Brewed in Singapore since 1932, Tiger Beer is the world’s most successful pan-Asian beer, and 2015 sees the brand delve deeper and further explore the arts and culture of Ireland.
