Boru3peaks Challenge – Pictured are Malachy Sheeran(red hair) Race Director, Sarah Hennessy from Hers.ie, Boru3peaks ambassador, and Orla Foley  Founder and Patron.

This is a shout-out to all the clubs, social groups, hill walkers and runners in the Lough Derg area and beyond to come and join Boru3peaks Challenge for a great weekend on the hills overlooking Lough Derg and the historic towns of Killaloe and Ballina on October 8th and 9th.

Over the two days, there will be three organised walks (or runs if you prefer) to the top of some of the most beautiful hills in Ireland. On Saturday at 10am Boru3peaks Challenge kicks off with Moylussa (Clare’s highest peak at 532m); Saturday evening at 7pm features Tountinna (457m), a wonderful night Run or hike! And on Sunday at 12noon, hikers will finish off with Keeper Hill, highest point in North Tipperary at 694m.

This is the fifth year of this unique event and it has proven hugely popular with hill runners and walkers alike over the years. There is expected to be stiff competition for the much coveted King and Queen of the Peaks and the Elaine Fagan Perpetual Trophy. Elaine Fagan was the oldest surviving person with Trisomy 18 condition when she sadly passed away in February 2011 at the age of 25. The trophy is presented in her honour.
