CareBright announce 30 new jobs

CareBright announce 30 new jobs. Minster Michael Noonan attends the turning of the sod at the site of the new CareBright centre which will create 30 jobs in Bruff, Co. Limerick for Irelands dementia community.

The CareBright Community will be a person-centered, activity based model of care, similar to the very successful household model being used at Hogewey in Holland. Extensive research on best practice models by CareBright has found that the small scale household model has a greater positive impact on the quality of life for people living with dementia. This model reinforces quality care and support for everyone living in this community. This model reinforces personalized care while positively impacting on each person’s quality of life and overall atmosphere of the community. It will also act as a support system for family members and the wider community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colette Ryan, General Manager of CareBright said: “I am delighted to see this project come to fruition. It has taken several years to get this project across the line and I believe that this innovative social model will change how we care and support people living with dementia in the community at a local and national level”.

Majella Murphy, Business Development Manager commented: “Currently over 50,000 people have been diagnosed with dementia in Ireland and it is time to re-look at how people are being cared for in the community. It is very important that they have the choice to live independently and have the ability to continue with their daily activities, within a supported community if they so wish”

The CareBright Community is expected to open in August 2017.
