Emma Langford, 26, came up with ‘Tug O’ War’ while showering one day. Emma explained that the shower is where she gets her inspiration for most of her songs.

“I get my best ideas in the shower, so I did a bit of exercise, took a shower, starting humming along to the rhythm of the water and the electrical hum, and Tug O War was born,” Emma smiled.

Emma Langford discusses openly her ordeal with anxiety , “I’m somewhat out of regular work at the moment and I’m finding it hard to leave the house. I get anxious a lot, and like any creative person I spend a lot of my time doubting myself, my creative choices, the path I’ve chosen in life.”

In her newest song Emma encourages her fans and like-minded folk to be bigger than “the little voice of anxiety inside your head”.  Emma Langford urges people to not allow anxiety, “stop you from brazenly going forth and reaching your potential.”

Emma gives credit to her musical inspirations Ben Caplan and Kathleen Turner, whom she aspired to while writing her recently published song.

Emma talks about her exemplars, “Kathleen is someone I really admire for her song writing, and she taught me gospel in college which I think comes through in the whole vibe of the song.

“Ben, who I supported recently in Limerick venue. Dolan’s, sings in this beautifully soulful low register, so that inspired me to play around in my own low register.”

Emma Langford is no newcomer to the world of music and performing. Having already played her tunes all around Limerick city and county, Emma’s now looking to bring her music to a national level.

“I’m currently reaching out to venues around the country for a few gigs.  I really want to bring my music to new audiences – I’m tired of playing – literally – within my comfort zone.” Emma explains.

Emma Langford is currently working on a new EP which she hopes will be released in the coming months.
