Irish Heart Foundation Sweet Hearts Ball on New Years Eve

If you are looking for something special to do in Limerick this New Year’s Eve that could make a difference to someone else’s life – how does  the Irish Heart Foundation Sweet Hearts Ball on New Year’s Eve in the Savoy Hotel sound?

Ireland’s national charity fighting heart disease and stroke is encouraging people to celebrate the New Year in a way that makes a difference and party for a purpose by supporting their gala Irish Heart Foundation Sweet Hearts Ball and purchasing tickets for what promises to be the party of the year.

The evening will raise funds to support the Irish Heart Foundation’s Kids Camps: For brave children & families living with heart conditions… See Ciaran (Newcastle West) & Saoirse (Ballysimon) stories below)

Unfortunately, children with heart conditions can be prevented from taking part in some activities in their normal day to day lives. With Kids Camp, instead of standing on the sidelines and feeling excluded, children can get involved in lots of activities and make friends with other kids with similar heart conditions. The weekends are open to children and teenagers with inherited heart conditions, from all corners of the country.

Kids Camp allows a child with an inherited heart condition to feel comfortable enough to share their own experiences and feelings with others.  It provides children with the freedom to explore without fear and a chance to make friends with children in similar circumstances.

Kids Camp is just as important for parents and unaffected siblings, giving them the chance to have fun as a family unit and get support from other families. Kids Camp is just one example of how your generosity could change lives. 

The Irish Heart Foundation’s cardiac support groups help over 3,000 people living with serious heart conditions.  Buying a ticket for the Sweet Hearts Ball could send a child with an inherited heart condition to kids camp next year.

 The night is being supported by members of the Mid-Western Healthcare community, led by Endocrinologist Dr Mary Ryan who is a member of the Women’s Heart Advisory Group for the Irish Heart Foundation and a senior lecturer in UL.

Dr Ryan will be joined by Professor Tom McKiernan, Cardiologist UL; Dr Deirdre Fanning, Urologist at Barrington’s and Dr Máire Finn, Ennis Health Care.

The event will also be attended by other members of the committee such as Brian Begley, Bank of Ireland Finance and Shane O’Connor from the Savoy Hotel and it is anticipated that Limerick’s vibrant business community will come out in force on the night.

Tickets are priced at €100 and revellers will enjoy a sumptuous 6-course dinner, music and dancing until late.
