Limerick Food Group Presents Christmas Food Producers Evening
This Thursday 15th December 5pm to 9pm the very best of Limerick Food and Drink will be on show as Limerick Food Group presents Christmas Food Producers Evening in the Milk Market with a brand new cooking demonstration unit sponsored by Local Enterprise Office Limerick. The LFG are a voluntary group of people working within the food community of Limerick with the shared vision of connecting people through food and prompting the community in Local Food, Local People and Local Business with the hashtag #bialuimní to support Limerick food online.
A Christmas Evening of Limerick Food will be the second event of 2016 that is organized by the voluntary group as a free entry, evening based and family friendly addition to the Limerick Food scene with a successful year since the group’s inception at the end of 2015. The Christmas Market Lights will be switched on from 5pm to mark the opening of the event and the Christmas Market Series on the 15th December by Mayor Kieran O’Hanlon with a host of festive fun and free entry for all the family to enjoy! Christmas Hampers will be available to buy at low cost for those looking for a foodies dream Christmas present filled with fresh Limerick delicious food . The night will feature a range of Food Producers some with origins around the world but who now call Limerick home brining you the finest dish inspirations based on ingredients home grown in Limerick. Give the Gift of Limerick Food this Christmas with your very own Custom made hamper for that special someone! Fest your eyes on local cheese, vegan produce, Limerick drinks, delicious hot dishes to go, gluten free sweet/savory and more. Local Chef Tom Flavin will start the evening’s series of demonstrations whipping up a seasonal taster on the new cooking unit from 5pm. Live music by local choirs will entertain the crowds for the evening

The local producers will have a wide range of food from Limerick including Minced Pies, Puddings, organic beef & lamb, Christmas Maroons, Cheese range, Christmas Hams, Chestnuts, Brandy Butter, Christmas Deserts/Baked Goodies, Ham Hoc & Beef Brisket hot off the grill, freshly rolled sushi, local Thai food, pulled Limerick pork, steaming paella, seasonal galette, Christmas Italian Pasta, Santa’s cookie mix, Gluten Free Goodies, seasonal oils & mushrooms, curries, seafood pasta, sliders, herring and gravlax tasters, and lots more. Limerick Treaty City craft beers with warm Christmas tipples on offer that will make the perfect Christmas experience.
