Cliona’s Foundation is looking for people to join their Purple Platoon to take place in the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run, April 30- whether it be by walking, running or even crawling!

The Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run is an event which hosts over 14,000 entrants over four different races, which are the full marathon, the half marathon, the 6 mile and the UL sports kids run. With the four different races open to all, there’s something for everyone to take part in.

Not only is the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run a great day out, it is also a fantastic way of helping and supporting the family of a child with a life-limiting illness.

Cliona’s Foundation is an incredible Limerick-based charity that provides financial assistance directly to parents of children with life-limiting illnesses or chronic complex care needs across Ireland to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child.

The Foundation was set up by Brendan and Terry Ring in 2007 following the death of their daughter Cliona from an inoperable brain tumour. Since its launch, Cliona’s Foundation has raised in excess of €1,000,000 and has helped more than 400 families across 28 counties.

Cliona’s Foundation relies completely on the public’s support, through donations, events and other fundraisers.

By taking part in the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run in the Purple Platoon, you are helping a family at one of their hardest times. Don’t do it alone- grab a family member, work friend, even some of your gym buddies and support the work of this amazing charity.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Phil at 061-331333, or email [email protected].
