Limerick artists Fiona Ryan and Aisling Freeney will hold an exhibition of their artwork entitled Earthly Rhythms from Saturday, July 29 in Quay Arts Gallery.
Earthly Rhythms is a depiction of the healing rhythms of the Earth and Heart, bringing sound, music and the voice of the land to the canvas and viewer.
Aisling and Fiona’s long friendship stems back to when they worked together at Milford Care Centre and found through their work the healing relationship of music and art and one which they hope to depict through this exhibition.
Fiona Ryan is an artist living in Boher, Co. Limerick. She was awarded a degree in Fine Art from the University College Chester in 2003. Fiona’s paintings are inspired by the swirling, wild and wonderful lands that surround her home.
These paintings are her heartfelt interpretation of the magical and mystical landscape of Ireland; the earthly rhythms and the sound of the land.
Aisling Freeney is an artist/musician from Castleconnell Co. Limerick. She is a self-taught artist and a qualified art facilitator with Imma in Dublin and then Crawford Art College in Cork.
Aisling specialises in working with people with high levels of disabilities to engage in art making. She works full-time as an Art Facilitator in Milford care centre, with a large number of clientele passing through the art department.
Aisling’s paintings tend to be inspired by feelings, sound, movement, moments and colour. She likes to use a wide range of mediums including acrylic, silk, oil pastels and watercolours.
The Earthly Rhythms exhibition opening evening takes place this Saturday, July 29 at 7 pm at the Quay Arts Gallery. Music on the night will be provided by Jaskane and the exhibition will run until August 6.
