Ellen Kent’s production of Puccini’s La Boheme comes to University Concert Hall, Limerick April 14th.

Opera & Ballet International proudly presents an Ellen Kent production with international soloists, highly-praised chorus and full orchestra!

Introducing the international soprano Alyona Kistenyova as Mimi and starring Olga Perrier, the international French Soprano as Musetta. La Boheme is one of the most romantic operas ever written, telling the tragic tale of the doomed, consumptive Mimi and her love for a penniless writer.  This classic tale of Parisian love and loss features many famous arias including ‘Your Tiny Hand is Frozen’, ‘They Call Me Mimi’ and ‘Musetta’s Waltz’.

Directed by Ellen Kent, this brand new production of Puccini’s La Boheme is traditionally staged, set within the attics and backstreets of Bohemian Paris, and features beautiful sets and costumes. Expect the Bohemian art of the period, a brass band, snow effects and Musetta’s dog!

Born in India, Ellen was the daughter of a High Commissioner. She was educated in Norfolk, at Durham University and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She worked as an actress for several years, before she co-founded Dual Control Theatre Company (now Dual Control International) in 1985.
