LCETB Hospitality Education and Training Centre Wins Irish Accommodation Service Institute Industry Award

The LCETB Hospitality Education and Training Centre scooped another award at the Irish Accommodation Service Institute Industry Awards on January 28th in Clayton Whites Hotel, Wexford. 

The Irish Accommodation Services Institute, formerly the Association of Hotel Accommodation Management, are the national body representing the professional interests of the accommodation industry in Ireland.  Its members include Accommodation Managers, Supervisors and all personnel working in the accommodation field. It is a very active in promoting best practice standards across accommodation, it provides a forum to meet and network with other professionals in our field of work.

The Hospitality Education and Training Centre (HETC) based at Limerick Enterprise Development Park (LEDP), last year, became the first centre in the Republic of Ireland to be awarded an EFQM Centre of Excellence Award.

Upon receiving the EFQM Centre of Excellence Award last year, George O’Callaghan, Chief Executive of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board said: “The Hospitality Education and Training Centre is a real example of what can be achieved through the effective partnership between further education and training and industry partners.  The EFQM Centre of Excellence Award is an acknowledgement of this partnership and the real beneficiaries are those learners who have successfully progressed to employment or further training.”

This year, on Saturday, January 28, The Hospitality Education and Training Centre won the national award in the category for Schools and Colleges for excellence in hygiene and standards at the Irish Accommodation Service Institute Industry Awards.
