Can dance made in the past speak to us now?  A performance sharing of #somethingoldnew by one of Ireland’s best-known choreographers David Bolger will be presented at Dance Limerick this Saturday, 11 February, at 5 pm as part of the Step Up Dance Project Repertory Programme.  All welcome.  Tickets are free but should be booked through www.dancelimerick.ie as space is limited.

The Repertory Programme is an exciting development of Step Up Dance Project – a partnership between the Arts Council, Dance Limerick, Dance Ireland and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at UL – which gives early career contemporary dance artists the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers, gaining a concentrated insight into their creative processes, culminating in a performance sharing of their work.

#somethingoldnew is a physical conversation taking its starting point from David Bolger’s repertoire and his work with CoisCéim Dance Theatre.  He explains “In a danced dialogue, presented through the lens of the present day, movement phrases from the past will be reformed, reshaped and framed by new bodies, minds and spirits.  #somethingoldnew connects us with the past to converse with the future”.
