St Patricks Day 2017 Bilingual Tours at The Hunt Museum

St Patricks Day 2017 Bilingual Tours at The Hunt Museum

On St Patricks Day 2017 bilingual tours will take place at the Hunt Museum at 11 am and 2 pm respectively, as the Irish Language Week takes place until March 17.

In order to celebrate the foremost saint in the country, the Hunt Museum has been preparing the “All Things Irish” tour, which will be delivered through said bilingual tours, in conjunction with Conradh na Gaeilge Luimnigh.

The celebration will go on with a performance by the local choir An Cór Cois Sionna, at 2 pm., following the St. Patrick’s Day parade which takes place at 12 pm. Cór Cois Sionna means Choir beside the Shannon. The choir is newly formed, and the members offer a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone with an interest in the Irish language – from a native speaker to a curious newcomer – to come together, sing and socialise as Gaeilge. Their repertoire consists of traditional Irish language songs in both unison and four-part arrangements.
