The entry fee for the Rape Crisis Midwest Quiz Night is €60 for a table. All proceeds will go towards Rape Crisis Midwest. Those who attend the event will be welcomed with live music, food and lots of amazing spot prizes.

“Fundraising is a vital and ongoing activity for Rape Crisis Midwest. Rape Crisis Midwest is a part funded voluntary organisation and every year we face a shortfall of €120,000-€150,000” said Tracey Quinn, Project Coordinator for Rape Crisis Midwest.

All from Rape Crisis Midwest are hoping people will attend but if they can’t they would love people to sponsor them on events such as the Limerick Women’s Mini Marathon.

“Without the ongoing support of the public our core services would be threatened and we are extremely grateful to all our supporters for their time and effort,” said Tracey Quinn.

“We would ask anyone contemplating taking part in the upcoming marathon to consider going the distance for Rape Crisis Midwest.”

The Centre was founded in 1980 as Limerick Rape Crisis Centre, by a group of women and men who were concerned about the lack of services for survivors of rape and sexual abuse. Since then it has worked to provide comprehensive information, professional support and a quality counselling service for survivors of sexual abuse and violence throughout the Midwest region.

“Approximately 85 men and women come through our doors in the Midwest on a weekly basis. We strive to help heal the lives of all in the Midwest who have survived recent rape or sexual assault and/or childhood sexual abuse” said Tracey Quinn.

All involved with the Rape Crisis Midwest understand that events such as the Thomond Park Quiz Night wouldn’t take place without the team of volunteers who gather sponsorship and the quiz sub-committee who devise all the questions.

Miriam Duffy, Executive Director Rape Crisis Midwest said, “Without the support of the people and business community in Limerick, Rape Crisis Midwest would not be able to continue to provide this much-needed service which we have been doing for the past 35 years. On behalf of the people who use our service, we would like to thank everyone who continues to support us.”
