Specsavers Limerick present Hocus Pocus at UCH this October 30

Picture: Alliance Everett Collection. Specsavers Limerick present Hocus Pocus at UCH this October 30.

Specsavers Limerick presents Hocus Pocus, a Halloween screening of the classic family film, at University Concert Hall this Sunday, October 30 at 3pm, with all proceeds in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.

This fancy dress screening encourages children, young and old to come as their favourite ghoul, goblin, witch or wizard, to contribute and enjoy a fun filled family afternoon.

Starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker, Hocus Pocus, tells the story of a trio of witches who return to gain revenge three hundred years after they were sentenced to die in Salem. Terrorizing the town’s trick-or-treaters on Halloween, riding on vacuum cleaners instead of broomsticks, the only thing that can stop them is a black cat, which, is in fact, a boy who was turned into feline form on the day of the witches’ original execution. A perfect way to spend Halloween Eve and the ideal way to celebrate the Mid-Term break!

Hocus Pocus is just one of ten films in the University Concert Hall Cinema Season this autumn, which is proudly supported by Specsavers Limerick stores and features popular big screen epics, cult classics and family favourites. University Concert Hall is delighted to be involved in this fundraiser for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin which first opened its doors in 1956 and provides a high standard of care to the 130,000 children availing its services every year. Specsavers Limerick present Hocus Pocus.

Specsavers specifically fundraises for improvement of The Department of Ophthalmology, which typically diagnoses and treats over 10,000 patients annually, making it one of the busiest departments in the hospital. The service provides care to children suffering from common eye conditions, such as squints, which if left untreated can result in sight problems. In addition, the service offers evaluation and treatment of other complex eye conditions such as congenital cataract, congenital glaucoma and visual problems associated with neurological disease. The department was expanded last in 2006 with the addition of two additional clinical examination rooms and the patient waiting area.

All proceeds from the sale of tickets to Hocus Pocus at University Concert Hall, together with all contributions collected on the day will go directly to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital on behalf of Specsavers. So dress up, come along, get spooky and give to a really great cause!

Tickets are priced at €7.50 / Conc. €6 / Family (4+) €5 and can be purchased here.
