Uncover a Mystery, Discover your History at the 4th edition of The Genealogy Event with Limerick Genealogy taking place Friday 1st September and Saturday 2nd September at the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel in Adare, Limerick.The Genealogy Event is sponsored by RootsIreland.ie.

This promises to be an interesting and exciting event with lots going on over the weekend. There will be 14 different talks, with new and returning speakers, offered across the weekend with topics such as Irish newspaper research, online Irish resources, representative church bodies of Ireland, preservation, US and NYC records for Irish research, DNA and more!

At The Genealogy Event, there will be one on one consults with experts in genealogy and DNA running on the weekend also. Separately ticketed events are a Pre-conference beginner workshop providing an overview of basics on Irish genealogy & research and a DNA mini boot camp focused on the practical application and interpretation of DNA results.

Across The Genealogy Event, there will also be a limited time offer for a Roots Ireland membership and a limited time offer for a 5 for 4 price of Roots Magazine subscription.

There will also be a range of special events taking place including a summer BBQ on a local farm, dining in an early 19th century thatched cottage, food and history walking tour of Limerick City.

The organiser of The Genealogy Event is, Bridget Bray, a Canadian native living in New York with ancestry in Castleconnell, County Limerick. Bridget has run this event in Limerick over the last four years as she has been a genealogy enthusiast for many years.

Genealogy and their umbrella organisation RootsIreland have been heavily involved in this event for the last three years, offering talks and one to one advisory sessions to attendees. Over the years this event has brought many visitors with an interest in genealogy to Limerick from around Ireland, the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Australia and elsewhere.  

There are flexible ticket purchase options (conference days, special events). Early bird ticket rates are also being offered with tickets regularly costing €45. Lunch is included in all single day conference tickets (excludes beginner workshop and boot camps).

He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online.
