The University Concert Hall and Robert C Kelly Panto is now in its sixth year and has grown to become one of the most eagerly anticipated in the country, with a host of Irish showbiz names starring in it since 2012 including Keith Duffy, Leanne Moore and Karl Spain.

This year’s production of the classic Cinderella will star Dayl Cronin, Dancing With The Stars semi-finalist and former member of Irish boy band Hometown, together with a host of familiar favourites and another big name that has yet to be announced.

UCH and Robert C Kelly are looking for three teams of children to take part in this year’s show and auditions are open to all children from the ages of 7 to 11, however, a height restriction of 4 ft 11 in does apply.

They have said that dance experience is desirable, and an advantage, but it is not essential and children do not have to be a member of a dance or drama school.

Marie Healy, Administration Manager for the University Concert Hall said; “We’re looking for three teams of kids for Cinderella, with 8 dancers in each team and they will rotate for the duration of the panto run.”

“Since the beginning, our young dancers have been hugely important to the show – it’s great to give young, local children the opportunity to share the UCH stage with some wonderful, professional actors and singers.  They are also great fun and have an absolute ball over Christmas.”

She added: “It’s also lovely to see the kids who have taken part in previous years keeping in touch with each other once the Panto season has finished.”

UCH said on their official website: “If your child loves panto, loves to dance and would love to share the stage with some iconic Irish performers, then the UCH Panto Kids’ Audition is for them.”

Auditions will take place at the University Concert Hall stage on Sunday, September 10 at 11 am sharp and will be conducted by panto choreographer, Erica Delaney-Hayes.

Erica has worked professionally in the entertainment business for over twenty years, working in venues throughout Ireland including The Gaiety, The Olympia, Cork Opera House and the Helix.

If you would like for your child to take part, please contact Marie Healy in advance at 061 213302 or email Marie at [email protected].
