Clown noir coming to Limerick this September. Clown Noir is a one hour-long physical comedy that combines clown, storytelling and circus skills whereby Joe Bloodworth a homeless old clown busks for money. Joe will visit Kilmallock, Co. Limerick on Friday, September 23 and Limerick City, on Saturday, September 24.
Clown Noir was established by Simon Thompson. Simon, a clown, buffoon and director, trained with Philipe Gaulier and has travelled all over the world with his performances. With over 25 years experience in Circus, Physical Theatre, Mask, Street and Carnival performance Simon has the skills and passion which make every event unique and special.
Along with touring his solo shows and appearing at festivals, Simon is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Limerick on the MA Festive Arts Programme and a Board Member of Irish Street Arts Circus and Spectacle Network. Simon and his crew provide comedy based street, circus, spectacle and theatre performances working internationally at festivals and venues. They have also brought to life a variety of different walkabout characters and circus skills acts, which are suitable for parades, carnivals and corporate functions. Clown Noir is fully insured for public liability and employer’s liability. The gang are also members of AOIFE and ISACS so you can be assured that you will be fully entertained with a fun, exciting and professional service
The show itself is a one-hour-long physical comedy that combines clown, storytelling and circus skills. Joe Bloodworth will reminisce on the stories of his past, from the exotic tales of St Petersburg, to the glamour, the drink, and the mafia.
The audience become attached to the old clown as they become familiar with the objects and memories he’s collected along the way, ultimately free and happy.
The show is suitable for Ages 15 and upwards and is guaranteed to make you laugh.

Clown noir coming to Kilmallock Limerick and to Limerick city centre this September, he is also touring the rest of Ireland, UK and Europe over the duration of 2016.
