They have over 90 quilts on view made by quilters from all over Ireland but especially from Limerick city and county. The exhibitors are from all age groups and they are delighted to have 20 quilts made by local children.

During the exhibition they are highlighting the work done by the St Vincent DePaul in our community. Quilters made blocks which were sewn into a quilt which will be used to raise much need funds for the society.

The success of the River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers from the local quilting community who will be on hand to answer questions about the quilts and help non-quilters understand why the group likes cutting up pieces of fabric and sewing them back together again.

There are free lunchtime  quilting technique demonstrations during the week, a children’s treasure hunt and an opportunity to vote for the quilt you like the best. The quilt that receives the most votes, its maker gets a prize.

There really is something for everyone to enjoy. The opening is being celebrated on Friday 21st at 7pm in the Limerick School of Art and Design on Clare Street. Everyone is welcome and you will be greeted with a cup of tea or coffee and  home baked cake.

The 18th River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition promises to be a captivating display of artistic talent, community spirit, and health awareness. Visitors of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend this remarkable event, immerse themselves in the world of quilting, and support the valuable cause of St Vincent DePaul.
