19th River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition is a colourful, community-led celebration of creativity, connection, and the art of quilting
The 19th River of Dreams exhibition promises to be a vibrant, volunteer-led celebration of quilting artistry and community spirit.
19th River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition runs Friday, June 13th to Saturday, June 21st at LSAD

The 19th River of Dreams Annual Quilt Exhibition 2025 will be held in the Limerick School of Art and Design, Clare Street, from Friday 13th June to Saturday 21st June, open daily from 10am to 5pm, with free admission.
Now in its 19th year, this much-loved exhibition is a vibrant, volunteer-led celebration of quilting artistry and community spirit. Organised by a dedicated group of local quilting enthusiasts, it offers a welcoming space for quilters of all ages and experience levels to showcase their work. Over 90 quilts will be on display, created by artists from all across Ireland, with many from Limerick city and county.
The exhibition is proud to champion creativity, inclusivity, and learning. Free quilting and patchwork skills demonstrations will take place at 1pm each day from Monday 16th to Friday 20th June, delivered by talented local quilt teachers eager to share their expertise.
Families are also encouraged to attend, with a Kids Quilt Trail running every day to help younger visitors engage with the display in a fun and interactive way.

A special feature this year is Sam’s Quilt, created to raise awareness and support for the Samaritans – Limerick and Tipperary. The quilt is made up of telephone-themed blocks using a variety of techniques including foundation paper piecing, needle-turn and raw-edge appliqué, combined with traditional Hourglass blocks. It was assembled and long-arm quilted by Amanda Kenny and made by quilters from all over Ireland connected to the River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition. This heartfelt quilt shines a light on the invaluable work done by Samaritan volunteers, who offer a safe and non-judgmental space for those in need of someone to talk to.
Also on display is this year’s beautiful raffle quilt, The River Runs Through It.
The exhibition opens with a community gathering on Thursday, June 12th at 7pm in the School of Art and Design, where all are welcome to attend. Visitors will be greeted with tea and coffee.
The 19th River of Dreams Quilt Exhibition promises to be another uplifting and colourful celebration of craft, creativity and connection. Whether you’re a quilter, a supporter, or simply curious, this unique event offers something for everyone to enjoy.
