Professor O’Connor makes easy links between the Brain and every day life making it available to everyone.

This is a Free Event With All Donations to The Blue Box. The Blue Box Creative Learning Centre is a charity organization founded in 1997, offering a creative therapy service to schools, school completion programmes, outreach projects and preschools in Limerick City. The service is a community-oriented intervention service used to deal with behavioral, emotional and mental health issues as they affect young people and their families within the community. The service aims to be delivered so as to be available and accessible for marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

The Blue Box uses Creative Therapies (art, play, music, drama, dance & movement), which are accessible to children and provide a language that the child can use to assess and address their life experiences in a non-threatening manner and to help make sense of the world. There is a therapeutic relationship at the very heart of the Blue Box philosophy of therapy. This begins with the support of the client through the use of boundaries of time, space, confidentiality, frequency and consistency. The therapeutic relationship is contained through a professional code of ethics, clinical supervision, protocols and management structures within the Blue Box.

So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
