Upon receiving the award, Dermot said ‘To be nominated for this award is fantastic, but I have not the words to express my happiness and gratitude at winning again. I would like to congratulate the other nominees on their success, and thank the IPPA, my family and all those who have contributed to my success along the way. I would especially like to pay tribute to my clients for allowing me to record the most special day of their lives. When a couple books me to document their wedding, they are entrusting me with the responsibility of capturing their most special moments forever. To receive such an award is a great endorsement that my efforts are appreciated.

Dermot’s easy-going manner and meticulous eye for detail mean he puts people at ease on what can be a butterfly-inducing occasion, as well as capturing timeless, artistic and memorable images. It is this combination that has seen Dermot win so many national awards. He has worked on television shows, photographed celebrities and is considered one of Ireland’s most sought-after photographers.
