The Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Coffee morning fundraiser was a huge success with a great turnout this Thursday, October 20 in Hook and Ladder.
The fundraiser was set up to raise funds for the newly opened Symptomatic Breast Unit in the University Hospital Limerick.
“The aim is to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and the great work that they do out at the symptomatic breast unit, which is absolutely fantastic. We are hoping that we will raise a few thousand for them, it might go towards buying a new machine or something like that which will help people,” explains Sarah Moloney of Hook and Ladder.

Teas and Coffees were had by all on this frosty morning and homemade treats were spread on all the tables for those young and old to splurge on in the comfort of Hook and Ladders soothing atmosphere.
Sarah continued to say how, “everyone knows someone who has had breast cancer” and how Hook and Ladder are “delighted to be on board to help and raise funds for such a good cause”.
As people flocked in for a cuppa and a chat the cozy downstairs room in Hook and Ladder was soon overflowing with waitresses rushing to refill coffee canisters and restock the lovely selection of treats.
A raffle also took place on the day with tickets being sold in the premise for a chance to win some amazing prizes from delicious bottles of wine to a jam-packed hamper all in aid of the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer organization.
The fundraiser is crucial as these much-needed funds will go towards the symptomatic breast unit which could help in getting life changing machinery and resources for their patients.
