2024 Castleconnell Autumn Concert Series programme announced
The 2024 Castleconnell Autumn Concert Series features four amazing acts at All Saint’s Church in August, September, October, and November
Limerick City and County Council’s Arts Office announce the 2024 programme for the Castleconnell Autumn Concert Series

Presented by RTÉ Lyric FM’s Liz Nolan, from All Saint’s Church, this year’s diverse offering promises to delight.
The series will open on August 27th, with members of the exquisite Degani Ensemble, Alan Smale, Ruby Ashley and Rachel Quinn, who will play Latin Americana and European Chamber works.
The Degani Ensemble toured Ireland extensively and the Degani Piano Trio formed in 2015, has recorded albums in recent years of repertoire including Haydn, Dvorak, Chopin, Brahms and Piazzolla and are renowned for their insightful and joyful interpretations of the classic trio repertoire.
September welcomes Rowel Friers, a young pianist and recent winner of the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition, he wowed audiences as a soloist at an RTÉ Summer Lunchtime Concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra last summer.
Rowel has had much success in national and international competitions over the life of his young career, from Rotary Young Musician of the Year 2015, to debuting in Carnegie Hall as a New York Concerti Sinfonietta International Shining Star in 2017.

Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble from Belfast, will bring something new to Castleconnell in October, with their “Elemental” programme celebrating contemporary Irish female composers.
Having performed at major festivals around Ireland such as New Music Dublin, Belfast International Festival and Walled City Music in Derry, Hard Rain have also featured internationally at Musicahora Festival (Chile), Nieuwe Noten (Amsterdam) and a recent showcase performance at Classical:NEXT in Berlin.
The season will close with Banbha Quartet in November as part of their tour with the National String Quartet Foundation.
Inspired by the mix of Irish and Polish musicians in the Banbha Quartet, Sean’s latest string quartet celebrates the Mazurka, originally a Polish folk dance, made famous by Chopin’s piano works and also incorporated into the Donegal fiddle tradition.

Liz Nolan, RTÉ Lyric FM: “Once again, Autumn brings exceptional artistry to Co. Limerick, with the latest season of the Castleconnell Concert Series. As ever, the programme offers a richly diverse array of classical performance, which this year, extends to the exploration of new soundworlds.”
Etain McCooey, Arts Officer, Limerick City and County Council added: “We have a wonderful programme of music for this year’s series in the beautiful All Saints Church in Castleconnell. Our aim in presenting these concerts is to give the people of Limerick the opportunity to enjoy live classical music, performed by highly skilled musicians at a wonderful venue that is both intimate and local.”
