The 2024 Cook Medical Mini Marathon expects more than 3,000 participants from all over Ireland
Now in its 26th year, up to 3,000 participants from all over Ireland are expected to take part in the 2024 Cook Medical Mini Marathon.
Cook Medical, who continue to sponsor the event for now a ninth consecutive year, used the launch event at Limerick Strand Hotel to announce an extension of its sponsorship through 2027.
The Mini Marathon kicks off at 12 pm on Sunday, October 6 at the University of Limerick, with participants of all ages walking, jogging or running the 5 km and 10 km courses.
The event has been a significant fundraiser for local and national charities, raising nearly €40,000 last year.
Participants can link their race sign-up to a personally chosen charity through a dedicated online platform, Give2you, with all proceeds going directly to charity.
Speaking about the event, Race Director John Cleary said, “We’re delighted to launch the 2024 Cook Medical Mini Marathon. The Mini Marathon has gone from strength to strength, and we are very excited about this year’s event, which promises to be bigger and better than ever.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone of all ages and abilities to take part on Sunday, October 6.”
Carla DiBenedetto, HR director and race ambassador at Cook Medical, added, “We’re proud to launch this year’s Mini Marathon and to continue our support of the long-standing special event. The Mini Marathon is all about community spirit and enjoyment, while also raising vital funds for important causes.
“We are committed to fostering deep connections within our community and are honoured to be part of this event. We look forward to seeing everyone at the start line.”
All participants will receive a 2024 race top prior to the race and a 2024 commemorative medal as they cross the finish line.
