The 2024 Thomond Park concert series created a €13.5 million total economic impact as more than 73,000 fans descended on Limerick City

The Thomond Park concert series which saw Snow Patrol, Paolo Nutini, and Liam Gallagher take to the Limerick stage brought more than 50,000 concert-goers to the county an economic impact assessment has found.
Over the weekend of July 12 to 14, 2024, more than 73,000 fans attended three concerts at Thomond Park with 54,850 attendees coming from outside of Limerick.
The independent economic impact assessment, commissioned by Munster Rugby and conducted by Repucon Consulting highlighted the significant economic benefits of the 2024 summer concerts held at Thomond Park, Limerick, and Virgin Media Park, Cork.
The total economic impact of the three concerts held in Thomond Park saw €13.5 million generated through the concerts in Limerick with visitors and locals bringing €10.2 million total direct expenditure.
In 2024, nearly 200,000 music fans attended a series of summer concerts at Thomond Park, Limerick, and Virgin Media Park, Cork.
The assessment found the majority of attendees to the Limerick concerts came from outside of the city and county, with almost 3 quarters of attendees travelling to see the music legends perform, creating a high demand for hotels and B&Bs as 13,800 accommodation bed-nights were generated for Limerick.
Overseas visitors made up 4 per cent of those who attended as close to 1,000 concert-goers made the trip from from outside of Ireland for each of the three Limerick concerts.
The combined total economic impact of concerts in Limerick and Cork in 2024 was €25.7 million. 12 concerts were held in total which saw 195,700 concerts goers attend which included a €16.9 million total visitor/tourism impact.
21,000 accommodation bed-nights were generated between Limerick and Cork which includes 20,300 hotel bed-nights.
