Ardscoil Mhuire held its annual Academic Awards Night in The Strand Hotel on Tuesday, the April 8.

This is always a special event for the Corbally-based school community due to what it represents: a joyous celebration of the hard work, passion, and dedication of its staff and students during the entire academic year.

Nominations for classroom-based subjects were made based on numerous criteria, with hundreds of thrilled students being acknowledged for their talent, effort, enthusiasm, and contribution to the high-quality teaching and learning that occurs on a daily basis.

Other students were selected in recognition of their effect on the whole school community; be it through leadership, extra-curricular activities, or indeed kind and courteous personalities. The recipients of these special awards were those who were seen to have excelled.

This year’s event celebrated these various achievements and drew attention to ASM’s thriving and caring school community.

Ellie Jackson, currently preparing hard for her Junior Cycle exams, was named as ‘The Kindest Most Courteous Student’; whilst another Third Year, Callie MacIver received ‘The CEIST Award’, recognising her vast contribution to the life and culture of her school.

The Third Years were truly in form, as the ‘Contribution to Sport’ award was presented to Madison McGuane. Madison, already a stalwart of school sports, recently played her first senior match for United (scoring the winning goal) and has started for the Irish U17s.

The management and staff of Ardscoil Mhuire extend their congratulations to all of the students nominated and offer a sincere thanks to their families for the amazing level of support throughout the past year
