Dance Limerick is set to host its international Christmas Winter Warmer for 2025, celebrating its third year

Dance Limerick is delighted to be hosting its international Christmas event, Winter Warmer, for the third consecutive year on Saturday, December 13.

Winter Warmer is a fun, family-friendly gathering that aims to mark the end of 2025 by celebrating dance, live music and participation and by showcasing and uplifting diverse cultural dance forms from the different communities that make up our city.

Attendees to this free event will enjoy different traditional cultural dance forms and live music through short workshops and performances, including Ukrainian folk singing, a performance from Hands in Harmony (Limerick’s Deaf Community Choir), Chinese, Indonesian, Iranian, Irish, Indian and Chilean traditional dances.

If you are curious about dance classes for adults and children, and all the other activities that Dance Limerick carries out throughout the year, come along for a chance to talk to the staff and teachers and learn more about how to get involved in 2026!

Following last year’s event, audiences were impressed with the local talent on display, with one member saying, “We never knew there were so many brilliant dancers in Limerick!”

Another noted the Winter Warmer had “fabulous energy” with another adding, “A very enjoyable afternoon with such enthusiasm and dance spirit.”

Another audience member shared their appreciation for the welcoming environment, saying, “We got a great welcome today at the Winter Warmer event. The entire show was really entertaining, such teamwork and skill. Such brilliant performers and a enjoyable afternoon. Hope to come again next year.”

Winter Warmer embodies the spirit of community, sharing and joy as we come together to celebrate the end of the year. Come and join us, experience different dance styles and learn some new moves!

Winter Warmer takes place on Saturday, December 13, from 2 to 4 pm at Dance Limerick, St John’s Church, John’s Square, V94 EP92 Limerick.

This event is free to attend but registration is encouraged through the Dance Limerick website. The venue is fully accessible and an ISL Interpreter will be supporting this event.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
