St Munchin’s Community Centre has announced it will take part in the 2025 JP McManus Charity Sweepstake at Limerick Race Course on Sunday, October 19

St Munchin’s Community Centre has announced that it will take part in the JP McManus Charity Sweepstake set to take place at Limerick Racecourse on Sunday, October 19.
In a continued pledge to offer their charitable support, JP & Noreen McManus and family will once again team up with the Boyle Sports Munster National and Limerick Racecourse by hosting a charity sweepstake that will see charities from the Mid-West region benefit by up to €40,000.
To be one of the chosen charities taking part in the sweepstake is an honour for St Munchin’s Community Centre, with Centre Manager Linda Ledger saying, “We’re thrilled to share that our organisation has been chosen to take part in the JP McManus Charity Sweepstake. Any support for St Munchin’s Community Centre is greatly appreciated, as we fund our services delivered by an amazing team of over 125 staff members who come from all over Limerick, plus we have over 65 amazing volunteers who dedicate their time to help the community. There is a wide variety of people working in the centre, so you’ll always feel at home here.”
Under the initiative, local charities will have the opportunity to enter the JP McManus Charity Sweepstake. Each of the lucky charities drawn will be matched to a horse in the Boyle Sports Munster National, with the charity matched to the winning horse benefiting from a €20,000 donation.
The 2nd and 3rd place will receive €3,000 and €2,000 respectively, and each of the remaining charities will also receive a €1,000 donation to put towards a specific project or initiative. Limerick Racecourse will also donate 1,500 general admission tickets for the race day to local charities, who can sell the tickets for additional fundraising of up to €30,000.
Speaking about the charity sweepstake, JP McManus said, “I am delighted that we have this opportunity through the sweepstake to support the very many charity and community organisations who do so much in our community here in the Mid-West.”
St Munchin’s Community Centre has invited the public to join them on the day with tickets available at €20. They said, “This promises to be a great day out, and we’d love to share it with anyone who would like to come along.
Tickets are on sale now for just €20 each – every ticket purchased supports the work we do in the community. If you’d like to support the initiative (and join us on the day!), please get in touch with us today by calling reception (061) 458 651.”
