Limerick Comhairle na nÓg Conference 2025 set for Thursday, November 13

Limerick Comhairle na nÓg invites young people across Limerick city and county to its 2025 conference taking place at Limerick City and County Council building on Thursday, November 13

Limerick Comhairle na nÓg is a youth council that advocates for young people, raise awareness of issues of importance to them and participate in the development of polices that are relevant to them.

Limerick Comhairle na nÓg has called on young people across Limerick city and county to join the 2025 conference at Istabraq Hall, Merchant’s Quay on Thursday, November 13 with the conference running from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Hosting young people from across Limerick aged from 13 to 17 years, the Limerick Comhairle na nÓg conference gives the youth a chance to find out more about Comhairle na nÓg, voice their opinions of issues that are important to them, and potentially become a member.

The Youth Conference will be opened by the Mayor of the City & County of Limerick, John Moran and will include an overview of Comhairle nan Óg, information sessions and interactive workshops.

Supported by Limerick Youth Service (LYS) and Limerick City & County Council, Limerick Comhairle na nÓg gives a voice to young people allowing them to influence government policy at a local and national level. In the past Comhairle na nÓg has addressed issues such as gender equality, youth homelessness, living in the Direct Provision system, cyberbullying and the teaching of sexual education in the secondary schools.

LYS remains committed to connecting with young people and supporting them to reach their full potential and is a member of Youth Work Ireland and the Irish Association of Community Training Organisations.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
