The 2025 search for the Limerick Roses was launched this week by Limerick Rose Molli-Ann O’Halloran at Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa in Adare

The search is underway for the 2025 Limerick Rose as this year’s search was launched by 2023 Limerick Rose Molli-Ann O’Halloran with the Limerick Rose Selection taking place on Sunday, May 18.
Young Irish women aged between 18 and 29 years of age who are interested in taking part are invited to apply for the selection process through the Rose of Tralee website.
The Limerick Rose Centre is inviting young women from across the county to seize the opportunity to represent the Treaty County at the internationally renowned Rose of Tralee Festival this August.
The Limerick Rose Selection comes around every two years meaning this is the prospective contestant’s last chance to enter until 2027!
Suzan O’Gara, Coordinator, explained about the application process, saying, “We encourage any woman aged 18-29 with an Irish heritage who is interested in taking part to simply apply and ignore any worries they may have!
“I can understand completely that there may be natural underlying nerves or a shyness in people to put themselves in for the event, but I always say once you’ve sent the application in – the hardest part is over – and even that part is not hard!
“From there on out it is simply an adventure, where you can really appreciate your county and the goodness of people within it and celebrate yourself and the young women alongside you… You will never experience anything like it anywhere else again.”
To apply, log onto the Rose of Tralee website and follow through the Apply section where you can check your eligibility and Suzan urges people to “click that button”.

She continued, “This year our Limerick Rose Selection will take place once again in the fabulous Woodlands Hotel, who have been our generous sponsor Hotel for several years now thanks to the generous Fitzgerald family, and it has been the perfect venue to host such a prestigious event and never fails to impress!
“The Limerick Rose herself is always very well supported by local businesses and dress shops and designers, providing beautiful pieces for the Rose throughout her Rose journey, including the newest designer that has come on board – Mary O’Sullivan design, who provided Molli-Ann’s beautiful dress for the launch photo today! It’s the perfect piece to launch the Limerick Rose Selection as it was designed with Limerick in mind, with fine art prints of King John’s Castle among other scenes from historical Limerick city.
“Having local boutiques and designers involved as sponsors means that we can promote and celebrate the fantastic talent in County Limerick, and that is something we pride ourselves in!”
The Coordinator explained that Molli-Ann has had “a phenomenal couple of years so far” highlighting some of the community work the Limerick woman has done through charities and other events in Limerick.
She said, “She has been incredible – and she still has four months to go! Molli-Ann is a very impressive young woman to be around – but like all other hopefuls, you can be guaranteed this time two years ago, she would have been nervous and shy and full of questions about the Rose of Tralee and her application. The growth we see in the women that go forward beggars belief. It all starts though with that little ‘Apply Now’ button!”
Suzan explains that through the process applicants will see that they have “nothing to lose, and everything to gain” by meeting new people, feeling pride in self and county, and being able to share the moments with friends and family.
She said, “I would urge anyone with an interest to reach out to us without delay – the Limerick Rose team will answer your questions and put your mind at ease to ensure as enjoyable a Rose journey as you can imagine!”
