This year’s Sean Kelly Three Counties Cycle is set to raise funds for Down Syndrome Limerick when it returns to Limerick on Sunday, September 21, taking off from TUS.

Nicknamed the “King of the Classics,” Kelly’s career boasts an incredible 193 wins, including 9 Monument victories, 7 consecutive Paris–Nice titles, and 4 Tour de France green jerseys. Now in its 5th year, this fast-growing event invites cyclists of all levels to join the peloton for 50km or 100km routes—all in support of Down Syndrome Limerick.

Starting from TUS Limerick on September 21st, the event is fully marshalled, fully insured, and packed with refreshments before, during, and after the cycle to keep you fuelled all the way. Whether you’re an experienced rider or just love the buzz of being part of something big, this is your chance to cycle with one of Ireland’s greats.

“This is our top fundraiser each year,” says Ellen Tuffy, Treasurer of Down Syndrome Limerick. “Funds raised go directly to services like Speech and Language Therapy, adult education, and employment support—essential services we receive no government funding for. We’re incredibly grateful to all the cyclists, volunteers, sponsors, and of course, Sean Kelly himself.”

This iconic event attracts riders from all over Ireland and beyond—and it’s not hard to see why. It’s more than a cycle. It’s a movement.
