The 2025 St Gabriel’s Ladies Christmas Lunch took place on Friday, November 21st, in the elegant surroundings of the Savoy Hotel

More than 180 ladies gathered for an afternoon of festive cheer, fine dining, and fundraising in support of St Gabriel’s Foundation at the Savoy Hotel.
The event, now a much-loved tradition in the Mid-West social calendar, combined laughter, friendship, and generosity with the shared goal of raising vital funds for children with complex needs in the region.
Ireland is renowned for its generosity, and once again local businesses and supporters rallied behind St. Gabriel’s by donating raffle prizes and sponsoring tables, ensuring the event was a resounding success. Keanes Jewellers were celebrating the opening of their recently renovated shop on O’Connell Street by sponsoring a beautiful door prize.
Speaking at the lunch, Treasa McAuliffe, CEO of St. Gabriel’s, expressed her gratitude, “The Christmas Lunch is always a highlight of our year. It is heartwarming to see so many women come together to support our work. Every donation helps us enhance the services we provide to children and families across Limerick and the Mid-West. We are deeply grateful to our volunteer committee and to everyone who contributes to making this event possible.”
The Christmas Lunch was organised by the dedicated volunteer committee – Agnes Bouchier Hayes, Rita Geary, Lucia Randles – whose tireless efforts ensure the event’s success year after year. Their work, along with the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and donors, makes a tangible difference to the lives of children supported by St. Gabriel’s.

St. Gabriel’s Foundation provides clinical services to approximately 1,900 children in the Limerick region. The organisation leads two Children’s Disability Network Teams, one based in Dooradoyle and another in South Limerick City and an outreach clinic in Charleville.
Services include specialist support for children with complex needs from birth to 18 years, covering areas such as functional skills, communication, emotional regulation, and language development. St. Gabriel’s Special School educates 64 children with complex physical and medical needs.
The Foundation also operates two social enterprises at its Dooradoyle campus – an Orthotics Clinic and a Hydrotherapy Pool – both accessible to the wider community. In addition, the Children’s Respite House in Moneteen, Mungret, provides overnight nursing-led care for children with complex medical needs in the Mid-West.
