The 2025 St Patrick’s weekend brings ‘A More Fun Limerick’ across the county with music, parades, and street performers

Paralympic silver medallist swimmer, Róisín Ní Ríain, will lead this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade, a moment the athlete says “is very special” for her and her family.
The parade which will cap off a fun-filled weekend with the theme “A More Fun Limerick” aiming to highlight the vibrant and playful spirit of Limerick.
It promises a festival filled with joy, creativity, and community engagement with the festival taking place from March 15 to 17 with the St Patrick’s Day Parade making its way through the city on Monday, March 17.
From Friday, March 14 Spraoi In The Marquee is Abbeyfeale’s vibrant St. Patrick’s Weekend Festival, bringing together the community for a celebration of Irish culture and festivities.
Friday will also see the first of many performances of “A Snail’s Tale” taking to Cruises Street. Taking inspiration from illustrations in medieval manuscripts, A Snail’s Tale tells an unforgettable, entertaining, sometimes surreal story of imaginary creatures once only found in monkish doodles.
From Saturday, March 15 Join in for family fun at the Hunt Museum with traditional Irish ‘Games in the Garden’, and follow in St. Patrick’s footsteps on a Treasure Hunt for Snakes. If you’re looking for “A More Fun Limerick” then check out the Hunt Museum this St. Patrick’s festival weekend!

Join King John’s Castle for Trad and Tales on Saturday, 15th March, as we celebrate the rich traditions of Ireland with a day filled with storytelling, music, and culture.
Saturday also sees ‘The Most Dangerous Animal In The World’ come to Belltable, This interactive theatre experience will captivate audiences both young and old, with family fun and laughter guaranteed, don’t miss the chance to see this dynamic show about an exiled sheep’s adventurist spirit!
A live performance of the brand new Irish music show Inis: The Limerick Experience. Join in on Saturday this St. Patrick’s weekend at the historic and iconic St Mary’s Cathedral for a celebration of the history, culture and folklore of the ancient city of Limerick in song and story.
On Sunday, March 16, Sets of Irish Dancing with the students from Scoil Uí Nualláin are taking place in The Crescent Shopping Centre this March.
The 53rd edition of the International Band Championship will see the streets of Limerick filled with the spectacular sight and sound of talented marching band musicians from across Ireland, Europe and America for Ireland’s only International Band Championship at 12pm on Sunday 16th March 2025.

Keep the Limerick St. Patrick’s Festival feeling fresh following the International Band Championship on Sunday, March 16, with an afternoon of crowd-pleasing performances for all! From acrobats and stilt walkers to jugglers and circus acts, come see our wacky walkabout performers as they run amok, raising smiles!
As well as Limerick City’s St Patrick’s Day Parade, towns and villages across the county will be hosting their own parades.
Kilmallock St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday 16th March at 1 pm outside the Church.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the centre of Newcastle West on Sunday 16th March. Enjoy Music, fun and community for the afternoon. From 1 pm there will be street entertainment, food and drinks, face painting and live music on Stage. From 3 pm, the parade will wind its way through the town.
The Castleconnell St Patrick’s Parade will take place this year on Monday the 17th of March following 11.30 am Mass.
Hospital Community Council’s St.Patrick’s Day Parade is taking place on Monday 17th March at 12pm.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Mount Collins is taking place at 12.30 pm on 17th March from the community centre.
Celebrate St Patrick’s Day with traditional Irish music, floats and more at the Rathkeale St Patrick’s Day Parade with Macnas, Ireland’s premier spectacle theatre company will be joining the parade this year on March 17.
The Bruff St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place at 2:30 pm on 17th March from Scoil Dean Cussen.
The 2025 Castlemahon St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Monday 17th March at 3 pm.
Launching this year’s theme in Adare as the Wild Wild West expect to see lots of stetsons, cowboys and all things Country. A fun-filled action day is planned for March 17 with entertainment starting on the main stage at 12.30 pm where spectators can enjoy the sounds of Local DJ Tony.
Come along to the Céilí Mór at Limerick Milk Market on March 17 followed by an afternoon of live music featuring Mickey Dunne and Friends on Uilleann Pipes.
