The 2026 Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards are set to celebrate community achievement in Granagh on Thursday, 10 September 2026
Ballyhoura Development CLG will host the 36th Annual Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards on Thursday, 10 September 2026 at Granagh Community Centre, bringing together Tidy Towns groups from across Ballyhoura Country for an evening celebrating dedication, community achievement, environmental stewardship and local pride.
Now in its 36th year, the annual awards recognise the tremendous voluntary effort of Tidy Towns groups throughout the region and provide an opportunity for communities to come together, share ideas and celebrate their achievements.
The awards will recognise year-on-year improvements and achievements by local groups participating in the National Tidy Towns Competition, while also highlighting the wider contribution that Tidy Towns volunteers make to their communities throughout the year.

As part of this year’s event, Granagh Tidy Towns will lead a short guided walk showcasing some of the local projects and initiatives undertaken within the community.
The keynote speaker for the evening will be Rena Blake of Brilliant Ballybunion, who will share the story of the community-led creative climate action initiative based in Ballybunion, County Kerry.
Brilliant Ballybunion brought together local residents, Ballybunion Tidy Towns, farmers, artists, scientists, schools and community groups to explore how the town could build a more sustainable future through food growing, biodiversity protection, creativity and community action. Rena’s presentation will offer an opportunity for Ballyhoura communities to hear about the experience of the initiative and the role that collaboration and creativity can play in local environmental action.
The Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards have become an important annual gathering for communities across the region, providing an opportunity not only to recognise achievements but also to exchange experiences, learn from one another and generate ideas for future projects.
Ballyhoura Development wishes all participating groups the very best of luck as they await the results of the 2026 National Tidy Towns Competition this autumn and warmly invites Tidy Towns groups from across Ballyhoura Country to attend the event. A special invitation is also extended to newly established and emerging Tidy Towns groups who would like to connect with other communities and learn more about the network.
