Limerick Central Rotary Club has announced that it will stage the annual Don Reddan Charity Golf Classic on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Limerick Golf Club in aid of Dóchas Midwest Autism Support and The Butterfly Club.

Announcing this year’s Golf Classic, Denise Brazil, President of Limerick Central Rotary Club, commented, “We are excited to host our 2026 golf classic in aid of two charity partners, Dóchas Midwest Autism Support and The Butterfly Club, which provide vital local support. We would also like to thank our generous sponsors, Lyons Motor Group and Don Reddan Insurances, for their continued support”.

This year’s competition will raise funds for two worthwhile Limerick charities, with Dóchas Midwest Autism Support and The Butterfly Club both set to benefit from the event.

Dóchas Midwest Autism Support was established by parents to represent the needs of people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Mid-West region. The charity supports children, young adults and their families.

Declan Hannon, Limerick Senior Hurling Team, Darragh Ryan, Lyons Motor Group, and Ger Lynch, Community Chair, Limerick Central Rotary Club.

The Butterfly Club, operating in Rathkeale, is a social club for children and teenagers with special needs and caters for those aged three years and up from all areas of Limerick.

Teams can register online for a four-ball scramble at €300 per team or by emailing [email protected]. Limerick Central Rotary Club are also seeking corporate sponsorship of tee-boxes and greens at €100 each.

Players will enjoy a meal and refreshments with prizes for the winners on the day. This year’s golf classic will again involve an exciting hole-in-one contest, with the incredible prize of a brand new BYD car, generously donated by Lyons Motor Group.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
