University Concert Hall (UCH) is delighted to announce the return of the Limerick Summer Proms, taking place over three evenings from the 19th to 21st June 2026. Now firmly established as one of the highlights of the city’s cultural calendar, this year’s Proms brings together the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and the Military Pipes and Bands of the Defence Forces for a weekend of exceptional live music.

Speaking of the upcoming Summer Proms, UCH Director Sinéad Hope says, “Limerick Summer Proms has become more than a music festival. It’s a celebration of who we are, a city proud of its heritage, creativity, and inclusiveness.”

The three-day programme opens on Friday, 19th June with French Reverie, performed by the Irish Chamber Orchestra. The evening traces a journey through the French impressionist canon, from Fauré’s Pavane and Debussy’s La fille aux cheveux de lin to Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1 and Katherine Hunka’s poignant elegy, culminating in Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, arranged for full orchestra.

On Saturday 20th June, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra performs the complete album Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys, joined by a stellar cast of vocalists, Patrick Smyth, Stuart Matthew Price, Graham Bickley, Jon Boydon and Steve Trowell, under conductor Richard Balcombe. The concert brings the intimate Wilson-era harmonies to life with full orchestral power, offering audiences the symphonic sweep behind one of popular music’s most celebrated recordings.
