John Kiely announces Limerick team to face Cork for Sunday’s 2026 Munster Senior Hurling Final

Limerick travel to Parc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday, June 7 to take on Cork in the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final, and manager John Kiely has announced the team to start this Sunday’s fixture.

Following a high-scoring and dominating performance by Limerick in the final round of the Munster Hurling Round Robin series, John Kiely makes just one change to the starting lineup ahead of this Sunday’s clash, a repeat of the 2025 final.

The change sees Barry Nash enter the team in place of Mike Casey, who has been named among the substitutes for the game.

Limerick will be hoping to repeat their performance against Tipperary, which saw them book their spot in the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling final following a commanding 5-27 to 0-25 win over reigning All-Ireland champions, Tipperary, at a packed-out TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Cork, who equally dominated their match against Clare on the final day of round robin games with a 1-30 to 1-14 have announced an unchanged team to face Limerick.

Limerick’s team to face Cork is sees Nickie Quaid keep his place in goal with a back line of Sean Finn, Dan Morrissey keeping their spots with Barry Nash the only change to the starting lineup. In the halfback line, Diarmaid Byrnes and William O’Donoghue are joined by Kyle Hayes, with Adam English and Darragh O’Donovan maintaining the centre of the park.

Leading the attack Gearóid Hegarty and Cathal O’Neill will play the right and left half-forward line with Cian Lynch staying in his central role. Hoping to carry their attacking form into the final, Aaron Gillane, Aidan O’Connor and Peter Casey round off the attack.

The sold-out clash will see 40,000 supporters descend on SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on Sunday, June 7 with a 2 pm throw-in. The match will also be shown on The Sunday Game Live on RTÉ 2 from 1:15 pm.
