The Hunt Museum has announced the launch of its annual Open Submission Exhibition, inviting artists from across Ireland and beyond to take part in a vibrant celebration of contemporary creativity.
This inclusive exhibition offers a unique platform outside of Dublin for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work in one of Ireland’s most respected cultural institutions.
Submissions are welcome across all visual art forms, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital media, and mixed media.
The selected works will be exhibited at the Hunt Museum from December 2026 to the end of February 2027, giving artists the opportunity to gain public exposure, engage with a wide audience, and exhibit creating opportunities for contemporary artists.

“The Hunt Museum Open Submission is about championing creativity in all its forms,” said Teresa Crowley, CEO and Director of the Hunt Museum. “We’re proud to provide a platform for artists and to celebrate the vibrant creative community across the country.”
The event returns for its second year following a successful 2025 launch, which received an exceptional response, with 210 works selected through a competitive peer-judging process. Visitors can enjoy a vibrant mix of painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art.
Featured artists in 2025 included established Limerick painters Robert Ryan and Tom Prendergast, emerging talents such as Tina O’Connell, Heather Hughes, and Ciara Connolly, RHA member Blaise Smith, exciting new artist Olga Anacka, international returnee Ireland 3000, and the iconic Robert Ballagh, alongside many other remarkable contributors from across Ireland’s artistic community.

Applications to the Hunt Museum Open Submission Exhibition are now open, with the process remaining open up to September 7, 2026. Submissions of work are invited from visual artists working in paint, photography, sculpture, print, drawing and mixed media, with a maximum of 3 artwork entries.
Artists are encouraged to apply early and be part of this dynamic and inclusive exhibition that reflects the diversity, innovation, and richness of today’s art scene.
