Limerick City and County Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for the 2026 monthly Twilight Thursday entertainment & events

Limerick City and County Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from entertainment and activity providers, business owners, performers, community organisations, event organisers, and cultural organisations to deliver family-friendly, diverse, and innovative events as part of Twilight Thursday – a monthly initiative designed to bring vibrancy and fun to the city centre.

Taking place on the last Thursday of every month, Twilight Thursday will showcase a range of entertainment and activities, encouraging increased footfall and fostering a dynamic night-time experience.

We invite proposals from those who can provide engaging performances, interactive experiences, or unique cultural programming.

This year’s event dates take place on Thursday, February 26, March 26, April 30, May 28, June 25, July 30, August 27, September 24, October 29, and November 26.

Applications are open to performers such as musicians, street entertainers, and theatre groups
Cultural and arts organisations, as well as event organisers and creative collectives.

Limerick City and County Council are also seeking venues interested in hosting special programming, and individuals, groups or collaborators with unique ideas.

Applicants may be invited to participate on one or more occasion, depending on the number of submissions received and available budgets, but new, unique and experiential events will be prioritised.

Providers must have valid insurance coverage and proposals should include all necessary equipment and associated costs.

Funding is available under two strands with strand 1: up to €2,000, and strand 2: In excess of €2,000 – reviewed on a case by case for large scale events.

Interested parties should submit an Expression of Interest (max. 2 pages) including an overview of the service, entertainment, or event proposed; proposed date of event from listed key dates above. If applying for multiple events/dates please provide separate submissions
Examples of previous work (links, images, or brief descriptions); confirmation of insurance cover; and total cost for delivering the proposed service, inclusive of all equipment, staffing, and other requirements.

Successful applicants must share the full Twilight Thursday programme across their social media and tag @limerickatnight and use appropriate Night Time Economy Logos where appropriate. Successful applicants are also required to complete a post-event report outlining attendance, costs, and event feedback.

Please submit your Expression of Interest for Twilight Thursday February event to [email protected] by Wednesday, February 11 2026. Submissions will be still be accepted after this deadline if your application is with regard to future funding beyond the February event.

Selected applicants will be invited to provide further details, with more information available online.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
