Irish World Academy music group 3 On The Bund come to Limerick as part of their Irish tour which runs from October 7 to October 12
The contemporary group come to Limerick on October 12 as part of their 2025 Irish tour.

Founded in 2019, 3 on the Bund came together through the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick and “rapidly went from unknown to hot property” (Folk World) Impressively managing to record, produce, and release their debut album ‘Frenzy’ during the Covid-19 pandemic, this band have been going from strength to strength within the Irish traditional music scene and are in high demand.

The contemporary group, known for its complex arrangements, blending traditional and contemporary tunes, come to Limerick on October 12 as part of their 2025 Irish tour.

The group’s international reputation is growing year by year, having travelled through Ireland, the UK, the US and Asia. In 2022, they headlined the month-long Irish Heartbeat Festival across Germany and Switzerland. The following year, they played to sold-out audiences at Germany’s Rheingau Musik Festival and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival before headlining the Guinness Irish Christmas tour of Austria.

As individuals, all are award-winning and accomplished performers with experience touring worldwide. Each has graduated with a first-class honours degree in Irish traditional music from the University of Limerick. As a group, they have already travelled to the UK, the US.

2024 was also a big year for 3 on the Bund. In April, they embarked on their first solo tour of Germany, as part of Zeitgeist Irland 24, an initiative of Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Germany. In October, they headlined the six-week-long Irish Folk Festival tour of Germany in October / November. The band are also currently working on their second album.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
