So what is Silkscreen printmaking?
Silkscreen printing involves ‘exposing’ an image/photograph/design using light sensitive material onto a mesh screen held in a rectangular frame, much like a canvas stretched over a frame.
This process transfers the image/photograph/design to the screen itself & allows for the printing of the image multiple times by using a squeege to push ink through the mesh onto the surface underneath (e.g. paper, cloth etc). With a little experience, multiple colour prints can be created to striking visual effect.

Our tutor is an experienced printmaker, technician & tutor & will guide every individual at every level of knowledge through the entire process – from selecting optimal images, preparing your screen, registering your image, choosing paper, solving issues that may occur in your work & of course printing your images to a high standard.
You will finish the course will your very own prints & hopefully, will have been bitten by the silkscreen bug! Please let us know if you have any queries about this or any of our other courses
 – we are happy to discuss & advise to ensure this is the course for you.
Numbers are limited to maintain the quality of the course, so if you are tempted
– please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
