Candlelit Valentine’s concert at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Love will be in the air in Limerick this February, as local singer Eve Stafford returns to the stunning setting of Saint Mary’s Cathedral for a special one-night-only concert, Valentine’s by Candlelight, on Saturday 14th February. Following the success of her sold-out concert Lovebirds, Eve promises an intimate and atmospheric evening of love songs and moving duets, performed by candlelight in one of Ireland’s most iconic historic venues. Speaking ahead of the concert, Eve said: “People were truly blown away by the duets and the atmosphere in Saint Mary’s Cathedral last year. It was just magical by candlelight. This time, we’ve added even more duets to the programme, and yes… you can expect some brand new singing dresses too!” She will be joined on the night by her ensemble, Fiona Linnane (piano) and Anna Jane Ryan (violin), with special guest tenor Eoin Hynes also returning for a selection of romantic duets. Lyric FM broadcaster and guest presenter Shirley Keane will act as MC for the concert. The programme will feature a carefully curated mix of nostalgic and love-themed favourites including The Power of Love, My Funny Valentine, Quando m’en vo, Nessun Dorma, the Oscar-winning Irish duet Falling Slowly, All I Ask of You, The Prayer, and more. The concert promises the perfect setting for a Galentine’s night out with friends or a romantic Valentine’s treat for a loved one. The concert runs from 8pm to 10pm (with a short interval). Tickets are €27.50 (including booking fee). Early booking is advised. CD Launch: Fiana Ní Chonaill ‘Something Old Something New’

Released at Kilmurry Arts and Heritage Centre on Friday, February 13, ‘Something Old Something New’ is the second album by Irish harper composer Fiana Ní Chonaill who hails from Castleconnell. This album is a culmination of a project that explores the blending of traditional music and new compositions, presenting harp-specific repertoire, slow airs, jigs, reels, hornpipes, as well as newly composed music. Contemporary Irish artist Meadhbh Ní Eidhin created individual artworks inspired by each of Fiana’s newly composed tunes, adding an evocative visual dimension to the music.
