Limerick St Patrick’s weekend
The 2026 St Patrick’s weekend will see five days of entertainment taking place throughout Limerick City and County from Friday, March 13, to Tuesday, March 17 in what is a celebration of “Legends of Limerick” under this year’s theme.

This St. Patrick’s Festival, Treaty City Brewery is putting a salty spin on tradition. Every year, Treaty City Brewery mark the occasion with our limited-edition Seaweed Stout, brewed with locally sourced dillisk — and this year they’re inviting you in to taste the tale

Run for Your Mum
A 5km fun run aimed at raising awareness of the needs of families facing sudden loss will take place in Barefield, County Clare, this Mother’s Day weekend. Run for Your Mum will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 11 am and is being organised by Rebecca Walsh in memory of her mother, Limerick woman Caroline Walsh, who died in 2020 after an unexpected illness. Originally from Caherdavin, Caroline lived in Ennis.

National Tree Week 2026 runs up to Sunday, 15th March. On Saturday 14th March, Cllr Seán Hartigan will lead a woodland walk in Castleconnell 11am – 12pm, meet at the Ferrybridge carpark. On Saturday 14th March, Colm Galvin, from Living Woodlands will be in Watchhouse Cross Library from 2:30pm – 3:30pm. Join to learn more about creating Biodiversity Havens/mini woodlands. Discover how to create the right soil conditions for woodland ecosystems, tree selection and community participation.
