A Lourdes Christmas fundraiser for Limerick Lourdes Fund on Sunday

The A Lourdes Christmas fundraiser concert, a night of great music to raise funds for the Limerick Lourdes Fund, will take place this Sunday, December 17 at St. Munchin’s Church Clancy Strand at 8 pm and will feature some of Limericks best musicians, choirs, and singers.

There will be performances on the night from Lourdes ladies, Thomond Singers, Lourdes Musicians both past and present, Thomond Primary School choir and Coláiste na Trócaire Trad group with the aim of supporting this worthy cause.

The A Lourdes Christmas fundraising concert is a no ticket event and free admission, however, any donations you wish to make will be highly appreciated and all proceeds will go towards the Limerick Lourdes Fund.

From June 21 to June 26 of each year the Limerick Diocese go out to Lourdes for the annual Lourdes Pilgrimage and the Limerick Lourdes Fund is there to assists the yearly running of the pilgrimage.

The Lourdes musicians, a group of musicians all from Limerick, that go to the Lourdes Pilgrimage each year, have organised this fundraising concert.

“There are so many volunteers going to Lourdes each year like nurses, handmaids, and the youth groups that do fantastic work, so as musicians we wanted to use our skills to do something extra from our backs to assist the Lourdes fund,” said Niamh Irwin, one of the Limerick Lourdes musicians organising the fundraising concert.

The A Lourdes Christmas fundraising concert will take place this Sunday from 8p to around 10 pm at St. Munchin’s Church, Clancy strand, and music performed on the night will include a range of festive favourites and many more.
