Limerick fitness instructor, Aaron Galvin, is holding a charity hill walk through the hills of Moylussa in support of the Cuan Mhuire Bruree charity.

Cuan Mhuire is Ireland’s largest voluntary provider of Addiction Treatment Services and Residential Rehabilitation. Our main objective is the rehabilitation of persons suffering from alcohol, drug and gambling addictions.

Aaron has been working with Cuan Mhuire for more than a decade and has supported the charity through a number of fundraising events throughout those years.

Speaking about the charity and his fundraising efforts, Aaron said on his iDonate page, “I’ve been working with Cuan Mhuire Bruree for over 13 years now. This will be my 8th fundraiser for the organisation. Last year’s fundraiser (May 2025) was a great success, raising almost €1900!

“Cuan Mhuire Bruree, in one way or another, has helped and touched the hearts of so many people and their families. The work that they do there is simply life-changing. I am really looking forward to getting the community going again and doing something to support this amazing organisation.”

The charity hill walk will go through the hills of Moylussa in support of the Cuan Mhuire Bruree charity.

Aaron says the annual hill walk fundraiser welcomes anyone who would like to take part whether they can donate or not, but donations are gratefully accepted with more than €700 raised on the fundraising platform so far.

Aaron said, “You don’t have to make a donation to attend the walk, but any donation of €25 and upwards will enter you into a raffle with over €200 worth of prizes to be won,” sharing that donations can also be made on the day of the walk.

The funds raised through the event will go directly to the charity to help improve and upgrade the gym facility there, which Aaron says has “hugely improved the quality of the residents’ rehabilitation”.

Prizes for the raffle include: a one-month membership in Energize health club; a healthy lunch for two at The Bedford Cafe; one Personal training session with APGfitness; two men’s haircuts in ModernMan barbers; and one life coaching session with Sigma Life Coaching.

urging people to take part, Aaron said, “If you were thinking about supporting a good cause then please consider supporting me and join us for a walk & coffee in aid of Cuan Mhuire, the largest voluntary addiction rehabilitation facility in Ireland.”
