“Pat Breen TD, Minister for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection said:  “I would like to congratulate ABS Engineering on their continued expansion.  It is always heartening to see regionally-based companies grow in scale, providing jobs and contributing to the economic and social well-being of their locality.  I would also like to commend the work of the Local Enterprise Office for the part they have played in supporting the expansion.”

ABS Engineering has been working closely with local businesses in the west Limerick area and have engaged with AOS Web Services to look after all of their Marketing needs.

“Eamon Ryan, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office Limerick congratulated Colm and ABS Engineering Control Systems on their expansion and on their new premises. He stressed the importance of businesses locating in and providing much-needed jobs in rural towns and villages. Eamon also commended the innovative nature of the Company and their ongoing research and development leading to further product development both for the domestic and export markets.”

By 2020 ABS Engineering are expecting to double their force. ABS are opening a new R&D department for their latest projects, one being their BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) for the domestic home to reduce its carbon footprint.

The BMS (Building Management System) that ABS Engineering Control Systems build on behalf of their clients, provides control solutions that manage functions such as heating, cooling, energy usage and monitoring from one centralised location that can be accessed both on-site and remotely.

ABS Engineering’s position in the market has been further enhanced as they are now listed on the SEAI register for energy efficient equipment. This means that organisations who invest in energy efficient capital equipment can avail of the accelerated capital allowance (ACA) and deduct the full cost of the equipment from their profits in the year of purchase.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Michael Collins said: “A huge congratulations to ABS Engineering on the official opening of their new premises.  It is fantastic to see a Limerick company growing from an idea to the successful firm we have today, which counts some of the world’s leading companies as customers. The company is a fantastic advertisement for what Limerick has to offer for entrepreneurs.  Limerick has a very fertile ecosystem that nurtures and supports firms as they grow and employ people locally.”

Due to the technical nature of the products, there are very few BMS companies based in Ireland. Through the company’s involvement in various project’s to date and from the vast career experience of Colm Cussen, almost all are well known to the business and have been considered by the company in the development of its own unique products. ABS Engineering are the only authorised integrator of the EasyIO Energy Products in Ireland. The knock-on financial and technical advantages of their products have indicated to us that they can provide a better option to the market, and have a distinct advantage over their competitors.

To date, even initial conversations as part of their project negotiations have allowed ABS Engineering Control Systems Ltd get ahead and win important business for the company.
