Kayleigh says, “I love to walk hills and I also rock climb. I have climbed mountains throughout Ireland and abroad including reaching the summit of Mount Sinai in Egypt and also scaling the highest climbing wall in Vietnam. I am honoured to take part in the Abseil for ADAPT event at Thomond Park to raise much-needed funds and awareness for ADAPT.”

The event will take place just a few hours before the official selection event for the 2018 Limerick Rose at the city stadium.

The ‘Abseil for ADAPT’ challenge takes place on Saturday, March 10, when participants can conquer their fear of heights and enjoy unique views of the iconic home of Munster Rugby, all while raising funds for ADAPT.

Over 40 participants have already signed up, including groups of sisters, cousins, friends and co-workers, all spurring each other on to conquer their fear of heights.

Rosbrien-based ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services is a voluntary organisation which provides support to women survivors of domestic abuse and their children across Limerick City and County.

ADAPT services include emergency refuge accommodation for women and children forced to leave their homes due to domestic abuse, outreach services, 24-hour helpline support, one-to-one support, court accompaniment and support groups for women survivors of domestic abuse. ADAPT also provides support for children and young people who have lived with domestic abuse.

To sign up for ‘Abseil for ADAPT’ on 10 March, email Lorraine at [email protected]  or call 061-412354. Full training will be provided on the day. Thomond Park Stadium will host the Limerick Rose Selection Night on March 10.
