ActionPoint World Cup Warmup: Dell and LIVE 95 Combine to Raise Money for Local Children’s Charities

Limerick-based Technology and Innovation firm ActionPoint have launched the World Cup Warm-up event in aid of the LIVE 95 Helping Limerick Children initiative. The event takes place in Thomond Park on Thursday, September 12 at 7.30 am and will bring stars from the rugby world together for breakfast, world cup predictions and some tales from behind the scenes.

David Jeffreys, CEO of ActionPoint said, “We’re delighted to be supporting the ‘LIVE 95 Helping Limerick Children’ initiative which this year is working with Cliona’s Foundation, CARI and the Children’s Grief Centre. These charities are providing amazing support to children in society who are most in need and this event is just our way of supporting their continued work. The goal now is to make sure we raise as much money as possible and I hope that we get the full support of businesses and people locally.”

LIVE 95’s Luke Liddy will chair a panel that includes Grand Slam Winner and professional referee Joy Neville along with Munster stars Tyler Bleyendaal, JJ Hanrahan and many more from the rugby world. The panel will talk World Cup preparations, the challenges of preparing for the big day while sharing some entertaining anecdotes along with predictions for Joe Schmidt’s troops.

There will also be a data panel led by Pierre Visser, Rugby Technical Consultant at Stats Perform where the focus will be on how sports tech and big data will play a major role in the upcoming World Cup. The organisers have also said there are one or two big-name guests to be announced in the coming days so the message is “watch this space.”

Brendan Ring,  from Cliona’s Foundation, said, “It’s wonderful to have companies like ActionPoint and Dell Technologies behind our Live 95 Helping Limerick Children initiative. The stage is set and we have a fantastic event in the making and now we’re hoping that the business community can support this great initiative along with any individual Rugby fans who would like to soak up the pre-tournament atmosphere.”

The event has already garnered significant interest and tables are selling fast. A table of 10 costs 500 euro which includes corporate branding and a PR pack. Individual tickets cost 50 euro.

Cliona’s Foundation is a Limerick-based charity that provides financial assistance directly to parents of children with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs across Ireland to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child. Children’s Grief Centre

The Children’s Grief Centre was founded in 2009 by, Sister Helen Culhane, together with a support group of professionals. Helen’s vision was that the Centre would provide children and young people with a listening ear. Today the Centre is well established within the Mid-West region, serving counties Clare, Tipperary and Limerick. We have a team of 7 trained, part-time volunteer Support Workers and 1 full-time Support Worker with experience in a diverse range of specialist fields including education, nursing, social work and psychotherapy.

CARI

CARI is a leading voluntary organisation with a proven track record in providing a child-centred specialised therapy and support to children, families and groups affected by child sexual abuse, regardless of means.
